March Classes Part Two

We're continuing to post the class schedule for March. Call us (765-9099) or come by the shop to register for the classes you are interested in. If you can't make a class at the scheduled time, our teachers are available for private sessions. Let us know how we can help!

Quilting Classes

Quilt Club This club will meet monthly and work on piecing a quilt from start to finish. The first quilt will be an Irish Chain. Theresa will guide you from picking out your fabrics to improving your piecing skills. It's a great way to stay focused!
The group will meet the 2nd Wednesday evening of each month from 6-8 p.m. beginning in April. The cost is $15.00 per month. You must call the shop to register as seating is limited.
We are planning to add a Sunday afternoon group soon. Let us know if you are interested in joining!

Friendship Star $45 includes a free pattern. 3 sessions: Tuesday, March 9, 16, and 30, 6-8 p.m.
This class uses a Layer Cake! A good next class after the beginner's class.



Country Sunshine Block of The Month $25 per session for 5 sessions plus supplies.
Come join Kathleen as she shows you how to applique this beautiful quilt. She will help you "custom size" your piece and share her tips for successful applique and piecing during this five month class. Kits are available. Class will meet the second Saturday morning of each month from 10 a.m. until noon. Limit 6. Beginning March 13. Come see the beautiful custom-quilted sample hanging in the shop!
Appliqued Wool quilt This block of the month class will begin in March and meet the third Friday of each month, 10:30 a.m. - noon. The class will also be offered in the evenings beginning in May on the frist Thursday, 6-7:30 p.m. $20 per session. A limited number kits are available.

T-shirt quilt $45 plus supplies. 1 session. Saturday, March 27, 9:00 a.m.-noon.
Come learn to design your own t-shirt quilt. We will show you how to stabilize your t-shirts and then sew them into a wonderful pattern that you will draft! This is not a beginner class; you will need to know how to rotary cut and piece. This will be a great way to get started and be finished by graduation!!
Beginner 9-patch $60 plus supplies. 4 sessions: Monday, March 8, 15, 22, and April 5 or 12, 6-8:30 p.m.
This class teaches the basics of machine piecing. Learn how to select colors, strip cut, chain piece, and add mitered borders. You'll learn lots and end up with a beautiful 9-patch quilt. Limit 4 students

Smocking and Embroidery

Beginning Smocking $45 includes supplies. 2 sessions, Thursday, March 4 and 11, 6:30-8:30p.m.
Smocking is fun! Learn the stitches to make garments better than the ones you see in the stores. You will be ready to smock most geometric designs after completing this sampler. Bring small scissors.

$28 includes supplies. 1 session, Thursday, March 18, 6-8:30 p.m.
Learn to stack cables like a pro! Bring small scissors.

T-shirt with smocked insert
$28 plus supplies. 1 session, Thursday, March 25, 6-8:30 p.m.
Learn to place a smocked insert into a t-shirt or onesie! It is best to have your insert smocked before class, so register early to receive instructions for smocking your insert!

Smocking Workshop

$10 for 1 session or $30 for 4 sessions.
Available sessions:
Tuesdays 6:30-8:30 p.m. OR Thursdays 10 a.m.-noon
Come join Martha for some quality sewing and smocking time. Work on the project of your choice and enjoy the fellowship of others. Call the shop at least one day before the session to reserve your spot. Space is limited!

  1. Oh My gosh, I just saw the spring preview of the Oliver and S patterns. CUTE CUTE CUTE. Thank goodness the weather is finally warming up so I can work in the basement all night!!
